I am a research assistant in the Office of Cowles Professor of Journalism, Diversity and Equality Catherine R. Squires. With her help I am researching and designing a pilot project that would introduce at-risk high school students to public radio storytelling. The dual objectives of introducing them to the option of journalism and to the craft of public radio storytelling. We wanted to motivate them to follow through on these at the University of Minnesota.
What I do in the rest of my life (optional)
I am a senior and a non-traditional student at the University of Minnesota. My focus is on public radio storytelling. If I steal time away from classes, I read historic biographies and memoirs. I love to discuss current events and independent films. I rarely find the time.
