you're missing wfmu, and its sister station (now with new call letters) wmfu. it is not NPR but it is 100% listener-supported. Does that count?

About the two weeks: that is a temporary compromise between broadcasters and rightsholders. Broadcasters asked for leniency because most of them had no system to record all songs that were played. The Copyright Royalty Board said in 2006 in 71 Fe...

Are you involved in the setup of the data-collection method for web streaming rights? There's so much dismay about logging, it seems hard to understand for someone like me who hasn't worked at a station. It seems that stations should be keeping track of what they play anyway for many reasons, including putting lists online and adding metadata to HD Radio. Could we talk about what PI is working on and how the labor of logging could be made negligible? This is probably something as rational as computerizing the health care industry and more difficult than it looks.

If we have an on-the-record conversation, the NPR public relations people might insist on monitoring, but I'd like to see if there's interest at PI in talking about this, and what the best time would be.
