Do you have a free-standing web department or does it primarily sit in programming, development or technology?

How is that working for you?

What's this "web" you speak of? ;-)

I'm in a joint-licensee + a statewide radio news outfit with a $5 million annual operating budget and about a total of 38 FTEs. We're an independent nonprofit, not a university-based service.

We're in Anchorage, Alaska with a metro population of about 330,000. Some of our products reach the whole state (660,000).

This week, the web stuff is organized and managed by our IT guy -- me. But we have three other staffers in programming areas that post content online as well, using the tools I've provided. Web stuff, on the whole, takes about 40% of my time during the year. It takes about 30% of one other FTE and about 10% of the other two. So, in total, it's about 1 FTE split over 4 people.

Ask me again in two weeks.
